people have said that singaporeans are rather ill-mannered. on some levels, i totally agree. but the things i see almost everytime i take the train is rather sweet.
one day last year, i was in this train cabin with one ITE guy who wore like a punk. with the mohawk hairstyle and all.and he looks rather ruthless, scary, troublemaker, an ahbeng. but when the train stopped at bishan(i think) and his friend alighted, an old man boarded the train. and there wasnt any seats available(i was standing). the next thing i saw was the punk guy giving up his seat to the old man. and he talked quite politely to the elder. i was quite appalled by his actions cuz there i was having bad impressions of punks and other concepts, nothing else better to do, wasting their life and being wise-less. just to capture attention?
moral of the story :
Do Not Judge A Book By Its Cover.

nowadays, it's common to see people giving up their seats to others who need it more. to the elderly, the pregnant, the heavily-loaded with bags, the people standing with babies and kids. i guess in that sense singaporeans do have abit of manners.

talk about judging a book by its cover.
so what if you have hundreds or thousands of friends? where most of them are backstabbers, hypocrites and not trustworthy. who use u like tissue and throw u away when they've had enough of u. who only look you up when they've no friends. who spends less time with you when they've found a bf/gf or new friends who seem to be more gerek than you are. who look u up when they're troubled and ditch u when they're having the time of their life. and also, pretend like u're a stranger when u bump into each other although u were once good friends and classmates in previous schools. i'd rather be left with a small number of friends, even if it's just 1 or 2 or whatever, so long as they're the type that's worth keeping. being a 2-faced/hypocrite wont lead u anywhere. someday, the new people u mix with will know ur true colors.
is that what u call gratitude?
is it worth keeping u around?
i hope they feel it when others treat them like that. they deserve to feel used. just like u did to your friends.
